Our Core Values

Core values are the basis for understanding what North Peak Christian Center should look like. Scripture gives us a glimpse of what the early Church looked like and what was important to them. Acts 2:42-47 gives us a description of the Church:
They devoted themselves to the Apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship,
to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and
many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the
believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their
possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day
they continued to meet together in the Temple courts. They broke bread
in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God
and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily
            those who were being saved.

These are the core values the early church and North Peak Christian Center hold:

1 – We value Scriptures. We will commit ourselves to fervent study of scripture. Everything we do and teach will be based             upon scripture.
2 – We value Fellowship. We will intentionally make time for us to develop deep and authentic relationships and enjoy the             time we spend together with one another.
3 – We value the sacraments. We will have times of meals and fellowship together and we will share communion together             on a regular basis in remembrance of what Christ did for us.
4 – We value prayer. We will have special times of prayer together as well as encouraging each person to spend time in             prayer.
5 – We value the presence of the Holy Spirit. The early Church was astonished by how God moved and acted on their             behalf. We will pray earnestly for and expect the Spirit of God to be present and act in our lives and situations.
6 – We value generosity. We will give generously of our time and finances to those who are in need. I like the passage in             Acts 2: 45 where “they gave to anyone as he had need”. We will reach outside our immediate church and help those in             the community who are in need.
7 – We value being Joyful. When Jesus touches a person’s life and changes them, they do become joyful. We will manifest             God’s joy to those we come in contact with. The Sunday services will be an expression of the joy and freedom we             have through Christ.
8 – We value Worship. We will have fervent and joyful worship when we come together.
9 – We value evangelism at home and throughout the World. Jesus’ last words are the mandate for us: “Go and make             disciples of all nations, baptizing in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit”. (Matt 28:19) We will develop dynamic             outreach ministries to our community, to our nation, and to the world.
